MOT tests - another extension during lockdown?

Having just taken my car for a service & MOT, it was a lot more covid safe than visiting the supermarket or walking down the street where people refuse to walk in a way that gives other people plenty of space.Life in the slow lane3

Showed this petition to my husband. We have an MOT business. His response? Bet this chap can't get his car through its MOT so wants a delay.2

Mmm. The once-a-year unreasonably strict highpoint of vehicle condition, instead of bare minimum...rhino_horn said:Showed this petition to my husband. We have an MOT business. His response? Bet this chap can't get his car through its MOT so wants a delay.1 -
Well it’s a moot point anyway as the OP’s petition only has 12 signatures.1

Hi everyone,
I'm the chap who started the petition, just returned here and read everyone's comments for which I am grateful. I would however like to clarify a few of the assumptions being made about me as an individual, by one or two people...
1) My car did, in fact, pass it's MOT in early January and with no advisories. It was, in fact, my 'experience' at the testing station that prompted me to start the petition, perhaps for the greater good.
2) I am not self isolating and mercifully so far have not been asked to.
3) I do indeed get my 'shopping delivered' but that has little relevance. I need my car to be available for use 24/7 for emergency medical reasons - so SORN is not an option.
I note my petition has gained little support, but I don't for one moment regret starting it. My family has been unlucky with regards to Covid. My mum and step-dad are now both dead after contracting the disease and three other members of my extended family living abroad are also now dead due to Covid.
Watching my mum die, via an Ipad screen, fighting for her breath, is something that will stay with me for ever. That is perhaps why, when I see a potential infection risk, I feel I must do something about it. Anyone who has lost someone to Covid will understand.
Whatever you're doing today, stay safe, protect others, and do not underestimate Covid, it is pure evil - given the smallest opportunity it will kill and do so in cruellest way, that is its only motivation.
I won't be commenting again - thank you everyone.

So it's actually a question of that one garage not having very good covid protocols.Bratchman said:1) My car did, in fact, pass it's MOT in early January and with no advisories.
