Maximum Halifax Clarity credit card limit

Have you thought of applying for an AMEX card. Fee free and you'll get 5% initial cashback on these purchases you're going to make. I got one last August and have so far amassed £150 cashback just by using it for ALL my day to day spening.

The maximum credit limit that you can have in any LBG bank is £15,000. That applies for Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland. If you want more it will need to be reviewed by the underwriters team and you would need a pretty good case to get approved for more than £15,000. I have been getting LBG credit cards for the last 10 years and I have always been given 15,000 on 0% purchases. Obviously the limit acceptance is down to you individual credit file.0

I also have a limit of £20k on my MBNA Everyday Visa card (ex Everyday Amex) though it wasn't part of the LBG when I was given this limit a few years ago. Like the Clarity card this also charges no fees on overseas cash withdrawals but has a much lower APR of 7.4% which means i don't have to worry too much about paying off cash withdrawals ASAP. This, along with my Barclaycard Rewards card will be very useful when I travel to Qatar very shortly for work.2 -
If you have more than one credit card wth halifax then you can move the credit limit between them as well0

If you have 0 mortgage or rent to pay, earn a decent monthly income plus have no large outgoings to pay the sky is the limit. Always try to keep the spend 30% under the limit or you will find your credit score will drop quite significantly. Never use a credit card in a cash machine for obvious reasons that will kill your credit card.-3

Credit utilisation and credit score should be taken with a pinch of salt. I regularly use more than 90% of my limit on individual cards and over 50% of my total limit across several cards and my credit score has not fallen.0
