Might it be a good time to think of Power of Attorney for your mum so you could handle her finances for her in future, if/when needed? Sorry for your loss and well done for all you've achieved so far. 😊

Regarding the car insurance, I would tell the insurer the exact situation and want them to acknowledge receipt because it is slightly unusual, e.g. for the car not to be kept at the main driver's address, and I wouldn't want them to complain later. Also do not get different quotations using different addresses, since some insurers look at that with a lot of suspicion.

This, plus I'd look at adding a second Attorney for Mum if you are the only one, and doing PofA for yourself as well, if you have anyone who could do it for you. We never know when things might go wrong ...

Thanks everyone. 
I already have PofA for mum (both health and financial) as is my eldest daughter.
The insurance company know that the car is kept in a garage at mums house so all is good on that score 👍.

Well done on including the health on power of attorney, so many don't and I can't stress enough to anybody how important that is
