As I own the property and always have I don’t know if it’s me who is liable. For those asking about me reading the real meter I have. I assumed it was all off a smart meter and I read the meter and gave the reading 12 months ago when I took over the account. Then it was empty and in credit. There’s only been 4 bills. I thought it was linked to the smart meter but clearly not.All energy accounts were in mums name. Now in mine but the estimates go back ages so they didn’t seem to read the meter. Ever. And don’t seem to have taken my reading into account.Units are m3. And electric is not estimated. That does run off the smart meter.
If the electrity meter is not a smart meter, then even if the gas meter is a smart meter, they will never be able to read it remotely. A smart gas meter needs a smart electrity meter to be able to transmit its data remotely to your energy supplier.
