Bad customer experience when purchasing a desk - ask for compensation?

In that case it sounds like the problem was down to your premature disassembly of the old desk.5

What if you don't have space to have two desks? would you say the same if the bed company brought only the bed base and said the mattress is coming up shortly? I think you either bring the whole product or you don't bring anything at all.davidmcn said:In that case it sounds like the problem was down to your premature disassembly of the old desk.0 -
I would still check that I got a mattress and a bed frame before disposing of the old mattress.dreamvendour said:

Frankly, yes, I wouldn't be disposing of the old item before I've received all of the new one (and checked nothing's broken etc).dreamvendour said:

Fundamentally, this company delivered the full desk in about two weeks.
Was 2 weeks within the timescales indicated on their website? If so, I don't think you have much grounds for a complaint.
I don't think the fact that the desk came in 2 bits is a valid reason for complaint. I don't see how you can blame them for throwing away your old desk, without assembling the new one.1 -
It was either 3 working days or 7 working days. The website didn’t state that the desk will be arriving in two parts over a period of a couple of weeks. The last two parts still haven’t arrived and there is no guarantee on when they will arrive.steampowered said:Fundamentally, this company delivered the full desk in about two weeks.

Those businesses won’t be around for very long if they’re giving out £700 desks in return for a bit of minor inconvenience!dreamvendour said:
This is a good suggestion thanks! Some businesses give 100% refunds when they make mistakesAylesbury_Duck said:
This. Don't be greedy. I'd have thought something like £50 off, perhaps even £70 (10%) would be a reasonable outcome and reflective of the minor inconvenience you've encountered.davidmcn said:I can't see how a bit of faff about delivery would equate to half the cost of the product.
What business is your employer in? Do you give out half price refunds when you make mistakes?
