Well, I can't even see that the Lookers website says they offer "14 day no quibble" returns, let alone see what the Ts&Cs are.
My local garage (not Lookers) offers a "peace of mind guarantee" but that is 30 day exchange plan, not refund.  Is the Lookers scheme similar?  (That way, Lookers still keep your money.)
Under their explanation of Click and Drive it states what I’ve copied above.

I’d feel much more comfortable buying this way if I knew that it was a simple return, as they suggest.  I’ll obviously ask these questions if I decide to look further at buying a vehicle off them (might still get a fix on me old Panda 🤞).

All info and questions are appreciated - because you don’t know what you don’t know!
A 14 day "no quibble" return doesn't mean you can drive it for the full 14 days before returning it for a full refund. You need to get hold of their T&Cs regarding this or something in writing explaining what they mean.

Ah, I see it now.  Quite well hidden.
Best to ask them how it works via online chat and then at least you can grab a screen shot record of what they say.

I wouldn't even consider buying a used car that they won't even let you 'see'. I can understand why they want to discourage test drives at present, because it'll cost them to sanitise the vehicle each time, but are they saying you can't even walk around it and kick the tyres? What do they offer-a video tour?
I'd be taking my business elsewhere-why are you set on Lookers?

Car showrooms aren't classed as an essential business and therefore are shut during this current lockdown.

I’m having car trouble and possibly have to buy a new second hand car.  I’ve been looking at the Lookers website and there is no test driving due to COVID.

The website has an explanation of how to buy online which includes the following -
Can I see the vehicle in person?

Not at this time, however, please be assured buying a vehicle online from Lookers is safe. Every used vehicle is mechanically inspected and checked against the HPI database, which verifies its history and mileage. You will also have 14 days from delivery of the vehicle for a no quibble return should you decide not to keep it.

I’m thinking this means I can buy a car, drive it for up to 14 days and return it if it’s not the car for me - an extended test drive so to speak.

Now, call me a cynic but the vagueness of this suggests it may not be that simple.

Does anybody know what costs/obstacles I’m facing if I decide to return a car?  And does anyone have any experience of returning a car on this or similar COVID schemes?

If you genuinely buy totally remotely, and do not visit their premises, do not see the car before collection... then it comes under distance selling regs, which give you a legal backing to a return.

OTOH, sod that for a game of soldiers. Buy from somewhere else that WILL let you see what you're buying.

When buying unseen ask for the tread depth and pics of the tyres, Cars with near the legal minimum and mixed brands need this sorting before agreeing to buy.

You can return within 14 days no quibble but the small print will only allow you a small mileage and you need to let them know well before the 14 days and can't use the car once you've initiated the return.

So it's more like a test drive at home with an option to return it, than 2 weeks free motoring.

Better than nothing if you need to buy a car now and nothings open, but read the small print carefully and only buy something you plan on keeping.

Take a trip to the dealer (they will be closed) but cars are still on forecourt to look at. Just do not take the !!!!!! with a 400 mile trip to look at a car.

At least the new online co's are clear with their return T/C in terms of mileage etc.
