Uploaded is included in Terms & Conditions For Retuns on Reverse of ''Your Order And Returns Details'' included with Tablet. They say as I ''used and uploaded'' they will not refund. Also they say although I have done a Factory Reset some data will still be there. Thanks for everyones  thoughts.

If you just assumed the adaptor would work without checking, that's on you - if you've used and set up the tablet they can deduct from your refund to account for this.

They won't even do that.

In what context are they using the word "uploaded" and what are they saying you uploaded? I can't see what they are on about that you uploaded that could be used to deny you a refund. 

It is immensely vague, but from other threads I think John Lewis have been trying to argue that "data protection" means they can't accept returns if you've used electronic devices, even if the only data is your wifi router password. Which obviously is a load of tosh.
