Neither trade body seem interested at all.  It hasn't gone away.  You will get the usual letters.

Other complaints have been made, not useful for your case but for the greater good.  B)

Trace are on the IPC Board so these firms pretty much do what they like, it seems.  That won't be the case next year when the Government regulate the industry.

The first few paragraphs of the second post of the NEWBIES thread explain exactly how to react upon receipt of a Letter of Claim.

Sad to say but it probably would not. You are not dealing with people who care, their only concern is how much money they can screw out of victims.

Try not to feel overwhelmed. We have had other people recently who felt they couldn't possibly stand up to the PPCs, but with the help of the Forum stood up, won and felt so much better afterward. I would also suggest that usually even losing costs less that they are currently trying to bully out of you.

The advice for a letter of claim is 1) SAR to the PPC, if you have not done that already and 2) email the solicitors saying that you deny liability but are getting debt advice so under the pre action protocol they must put the case on hold for 30 days ( and I would send that one towards the end of their stipulated period)

That gives time to breathe and work out the next bit without time pressure.

But yes - I would try the letter from the mental health services and ask Gladstones to confirm that their client will now cancel the proposed claim.  Copy in your MP.
