Left BT 6 days ago, went to Virgin, can I go back to BT?

Short version: We left BT 6 days ago. Went to Virgin. Leaving Virgin now. Can we go back to BT?
(The move had been booked in 2 weeks prior.)
Long Version: We joined Virgin. 5 days later I saw the deal on this website. It was MUCH better than the deal we had. I called customer service. First agent said they would be happy to match the offer - but he couldn't see it anywhere online. I was driving, so I called back later. 2nd customer service agent, quite rude and curt, said I should go stuff myself and I couldn't have the offer. He said the ONLY choice was to leave and then sign a new contract. I said, OK, I have no choice (thinking they would call me back and ask me to stay). 2 further calls the next day. The last call says my account was terminating and there was NOTHING that could be done to stop that - absolutely nothing. This guy was really nice and polite. He also explained even if I rejoined, I should make the new account be in another name with different bank details - else the Virgin system goes crazy and doesn't work and causes many problems. BUT... leaving, we could NOT have our existing phone number.
Feb 6th: the account to be terminated. So need to move before then.
For me... it's like buying a car and the next day seeing it for half price. I would imagine most wouldn't be too happy. YES: I get that's how these companies work, but happy to go with the flow, so be it.

The moral of your story is: once you've made your decision to buy stop looking around! If you don't, you will inevitably see a better offer the next day. Or five.enginestar said:For me... it's like buying a car and the next day seeing it for half price.0 -
@Chino, thanks for the moral guide to life. LOL. It was funny.
I wasn't looking at all. I was happily blissfully living life, when I was interrupted by Martin Lewis - he sent me an email with an amazing offer for broadband from Virgin.
How would like buying a brand new Tesla for £70,000. And then Martin emails you the next day saying there's a special offer where you can buy for £35,000.
Anyway... my question still remains. 🤔0 -
Are you still in your cooling off period? If so, make use of it.And if BT do cut you off, probably no great loss, you can probably do better on a new customer deal elsewhere.0

First world problems.
Go back to someone using a BT line or sign up again with Virgin.
If the the MSE offer was worse than your previous deal, would you have called to ask to pay more?0 -
If you requested to cancel you may well lose your phone number .
It's fairly straightforward when switching between companies that use the BT network but as Virgin do the phone without a landline it complicates things unless you get it right.
Was the MSE deal so much better than what you signed up for?
