It is NOT a benefit (rant)

Options
I wish they would ban those adverts that say if you are over 50 you can get this benefit today.
It is not a benefit it is an insurance policy or funeral plan.
How is that classed as a benefit?
I know that I don't have to click them and ad stoppers can stop me seeing them but they should still be banned.

If you are unhappy about the content of any advert, just report it.
Personally, I've not noticed the use of the word 'benefit' (I'm assuming you mean they are making it sound like JSA, Attendance Allowance etc) in these adverts but I only see them on TV and they just wash over me.

I see those adverts all over the internet, but mainly on the web sites of newspapers.  Most of those adverts are dodgy to some extent.
    If it sticks, force it.
If it breaks, well it wasn't working right anyway.
  • The bit that makes me laugh is they say 'we pay 100% of claims'. No surprise really on a funeral plan.

Moneysaving tip of the day - leave your body to medical science.  A simple, no cost 'funeral plan' as they handle everything at no cost.
No need for a maudling funeral service either, at a time when many are feeling vulnerable and depressed.
After a suitable period of time, have a big party celebrating life.

I am inclined to agree - funerals are for the living not the dead.
I have always said to Mrs O that once I go dispose me as cheaply as possible ... put the FUN into FUNeral.

A benefit is any good thing that is received by someone. A benefit is not limited to something the state pays you, but can be anything that anyone pays you now or in the future. I think you are wrong to question this
The comments I post are my personal opinion. While I try to check everything is correct before posting, I can and do make mistakes, so always try to check official information sources before relying on my posts.

And its one less thing to worry about. Have you decided what to do with the cash yet?

I saw this ad for the first time a couple of hours ago. I've screen-grabbed it and it's going to the ASA
