Trace Recovery Legal department

Just got a letter from trace recovery legal department stating I have 14 days to pay or else they will prepare the case for county court. I don't have any intention of paying especially the added on 60 bogus quid they are adding. Just wanted to know has anyone had experience with dealing with Trace debt recovery to the point where it went to county court and what was the outcome. I've read many threads and usually the person who starts thread never gives a result of the outcome. All advice is welcome

Hint: this isnt a LBC. It is debt collector trash.

Hundreds, perhaps thousands of such cases, have you not found any?  Have you complained to the landowner, MP?

I have only just received this letter now because the address they had sent this letter to I no longer live there.

Any thoughts advice or tips is this just another letter to try and scare me into paying or are they likely to take me to county court ?

This is a debt collection letter (14-day deadline is the giveaway), and can be ignored - please read the NEWBIES FAQ Announcement, fourth post, to learn about impotent debt collector letters.

Come back on this thread if you receive a formal Letter Of/Before Claim (30-day deadline will be the clue) or a County Court Claim via the Northampton CCBC.

Have you complained to the landowner and asked them to intervene and get this cancelled.

You must email the Data Protection Officer of the parking company (you will find their contact details on the Privacy Page of their website), instructing them to erase (use that word) your former address and replace it with your new address, and tell them to inform any third party with whom they have shared your personal data of the same. It's important you have any old address still current with any of them, to ensure any court claim isn't sent there. This is an urgent action.

Have you updated the DVLA - separate notifications for your V5C (logbook) and you driving licence - you can do it online.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Is this to do with your other thread: -
    https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6234473/trace-recovery-legal-department#latest
If so, ask the forum team to merge them, if not, carry on with this thread but a bit more detail would be handy and could you update the other thread with the outcome please.

    Thank you for your reply.

I have contacted the landowner so just awaiting a reply and I have now contacted the data protection officers about address changes. It was intially trace debt recovery that sent a letter back in January 2021 which I ignored and heard nothing again until now from Shakespeare MARTINEAU what is likelihood they will try take me to court to try and swindle £170 out of me.

Just seems weird over two years later they have returned

Also drivers licence and V5C logbook have been updated since January 2023 when I moved to a new address.
