Will a Tesco sim card work in an O2 phone?

I currently have a Tesco Pay as you go sim card and can get a cheap iPhone XR which is on O2.

Will my Tesco sim card work in an O2 phone please?

YES!

A tesco SIM will work in an o2 phone but a o2 sim will not work in a Tesco phone

Where are you getting the phone from?

Is it possible to ask the owner to get O2 to unlock it for you? (I think it's free to do) That would be the best solution, cheapest and future proof.
