I got a letter last Saturday informing me of a £3.50 per month increase from March 1st.
Dialling 150 , once I selected "thinking of leaving" I was offered a £3.50 discount for 6 months, effectively cancelling out the forthcoming increase. As I already have other discounts , this leaves me with what I was already happy with - so I accepted it.
They must expect pushback since they obviously now have an automated "cancel my price increase" system in place now.
My next call to them will be in July when a £12 loyalty discount expires.
So I continue to pay £38.39 for M100 broadband, Talk unlimited phone, V6 box and Fun TV.

Was on an old VIP package (350Mb broadband, full TV with HD Sky sports, movies, and BT sports) and phone lione 24/7) and was costing over 98/mth on a contract deal. The contract came to an end and they were putting me up to £133.50 a month, with a further £4.50/mth as from next month. I followed Martin's advice and phoned them with a view to leaving. Immediately auto voice offered me a discount of the £4.50 but I didn't accept, and waited to be put through to a rep. They first offered me a £20/mth discount. I noted that they are offering new customers the Ultimate Oomph bundle (all my old but 500Mb b/b, plus a free unlimited virginmedia SIM) for £89/mth with £100 credit and 18mths contract: effectively £83.40. No setup or activation fees. I mentioned BT and Sky packages I was interested in. I said I wanted that deal or I'd go, and I would think about my wife coming in as a new customer if VM were still the best. Yes, I'd lose my phone number and VM email address, but perhaps to start using gmail/ouotlook etc so not trapped in future. They put me through to disconnections (retentions). Rep offered me my old VIP: first at £104, then at £94 (12mth contract) when I kept saying no good. Finally she offered me the Ultimate Oomph bundle at £94 on 18mth contract. I first said no. Then as Rep was in process of disconnecting me, which apparently has a 30 day notice even though I was out of contract, I accepted the oomph £94 for 18mth. Thought the £10 a month was worth it. Pleased with over a £800 saving (note they would increase it again next March). Although I'm happy, has anyone experience of saying yes to the disconnection, and do they phone back early in the 30 day period, and would I have got a better deal? Would be good info for 18mth time.0
