Hi I have tv, phone line and broadband and my bill is going up and its way to much for what I can afford I was wondering if I end my contract could my partner take out a new contract, he can get the same package for £35 less? Or wouldn't he come under a new customer?

I've done this too, however you can't transfer your telephone number when doing this. You'd have to completely cease service and your OH would need to place a new order as a new customer with no migration request for the telephone number.0

How long would I wait for my partner to apply to be a new customer? Would it be when I have sent there equipment back?Fighter1986 said:I've done this too, however you can't transfer your telephone number when doing this. Give them a call first and explain you can’t afford it, put cancellation in, and see if they call you back with a far better offer first. That may be easier than signing up again, but yes you can do that, and if you do decide to go that route do it via a cashback site too.0

I went on chat but they wouldn't budge so I've cancelled my contract (they didn't want me to leave she kept on saying we can down grade you and saying no one can beat there Internet I don't want to down grade so I said what's my cancellation date was on chat over an hour saying cancel😞) you know how long I would have to wait before my partner can apply for a new contract?PZ19 said:Give them a call first and explain you can’t afford it, put cancellation in, and see if they call you back with a far better offer first. I guess he can apply at any time.. you could well receive a call from outbound retentions with far better offer to stay though in next week. What package are you on now and how much do you pay? When they call, see what they offer and make sure you explain that a new customer can get it for x so looking at that or better. Alternatively price up,what you have including any cashback so you can show them what you after price wise. Be aware it may come from a mobile number as lot of them are working from home.Janeb69 said:

Ah yes that’s very expensive, you should definitely get that lot cheaper maybe not as cheap as your new sign up offer, but wait for the call. Make sure in your virgin media account you have ticked the it’s ok to receive calls from them in marketing bitJaneb69 said:I'm on m350 broadband with full house tv (xl) and phoneline talk more wkends was £670 -

Brilliant, well done Jane, it’s annoying having to go through the charade at each contract change but it’s worth it.. that’s good money savedJaneb69 said:
