Solar Panels (maybe battery, maybe not) quotes

Options
We have just brought our new house, moved in at the beginning of Dec. The house is currently on standard electric for everything- so will be quite expensive
We have been looking at getting solar panels to help cut the costs on our electric bill.
I have had a quote from Project Solar (£11k+) - seemed a bit iffy and very expensive. A bit more research and I quickly realised I was correct in this case.
The next quote I have is from go2solar, although the quote came from in2gr8ted solutions, firstly has anyone used this company and what other companies are recomended?
go2solars quote is:

 Longi 370w Black Perc 370w (12 panels)
 GivEnergy Hybrid 3.6kw Inverter
GivEnergy Hybrid 8.2kWh 1
Solar iBoost 1
           Subtotal (ex VAT) £5040.57
Services Full installation, certification & registration
                        £3360.38 Subtotal (ex VAT)

Total : £8400.95 VAT (5%) £420.05 (inc VAT) £8821

Is this a reasonable quote and are the products recommended good quality or are their better products on the market.
Thanks

Which type of electric heaters do you have?
You may be disappointed with the economics of solar.  It's unlikely to produce sufficient electricity at times when you need it most, e.g. winter days with short hours of daylight.  Even when the sun shines, it'll be too low in the sky to generate much output, so you'll still be consuming much the same amounts of mains electricity.
Assuming that it's absolutely impossible to get mains gas, oil might be a better investment.
  • It’s a wet based system. They look like ‘normal’ radiators rather than storage heater types.

To be honest have only turned it on once as we have a wood burner that keep most of the house toasty and we get free fire wood which is a bonus

An electric boiler with wet radiators is about the most expensive heating you can have.
But as you already have the radiators and pipework, it's a no brainer: change to an oil boiler, or just stay with the wood burner.

Have a shufti at this sitehttps://re.jrc.ec.europa.eu/pvg_tools/en/#PVP  and fill in your details to get an estimate of the the monthly power generation for the set up you are proposing (which appears to be roughly 4kwp). It will help you see how well the generation figures match your monthly consumption to try and estimate how much you think you might save. If you are hoping it will help your heating bills in the winter then TBH you will be sorely disappointed.

It's gonna take a long time to recover the £9k outlay, I dont know what your annual leccy bill is but even if you mange to recover £500 a year (energy saving plus selling surplus) it will take 18 years - even longer if you've got to borrow the money and pay interest or you need to replace the inverter or batteries during that time which I guess is quite likely

I'm all electric but with a heatpump feeding wet underfloor heating and hot water and the generation profile is almost an exact mirror image of my consumption Generate 120kwh in January but use about 1200kwh but in July the generation is around 350kwh and consumption is 300kwh.so I'd have to try and use as much as I could during the day although the batteries should store enough to keep you going overnight

Edited, with apologies,  to revise an erroneous statement & conclusion regarding summer generation and consumption

in July the generation is around 3500kwh and consumption is 300kwh. So I wouldn't save much in the winter and have to sell most of it in the summer as I can't use it all.
Buy an electric car, charge it during the day and drive it at night !  You might even be able to use its battery to provide your night time consumption.

Do you really generate 3500kwh in July?  I'd have thought nearer 350kwh?
