How to stop Marketing Texts

I've received two text messages over the last couple of days from a taxi company in an area that I no longer live. They don't provide a phone number or the facility to reply. Where the phone number should be is literally just the name of the phone company.

The text message reads 'Did you hear? We have merged with ***** Taxis. Same team, same drivers, better service! Download our new app from OptOut SMSSTOP to 60075'
I have text 60075 with 'SMSSTOP' but I haven't had confirmation that the texts will end and this has charged me 12 pence.
Has anyone come across this before? Will my text have put a stop to these texts/I'm not going to get charged again am I? I contacted my phone provider but they just told me to avoid engaging with these texts; a bit late for that...

If you have a recent Android installation you should get an option to Report as Spam (you may need to enable it in Messages options).  Just do that, or just delete and ignore.

You probably shouldn't have texted it:

I would double check your provider's tariff to make sure that is the only charge for this "premium rate" text.
I think there's an option somewhere in your account settings to block all premium rate texts from whatever source if you so choose, have a look as I'm not certain. I know I've blocked things like that in the past.
Doesn't ***** Taxis have a proper phone number? If they don't desist from sending texts or other contact after your request, you could phone them and tell them to remove your details from their systems and stop sending messages.....(otherwise you'll report them to the ICO if they are difficult).

I suspect that your phone has recognised the taxi firm's number (e.g. via a Google search) and changed it to show the company name. If you look at the info for the name (in your Messages app) you may find the number. :)
