  • Thank you so much.  I really appreciate you help.  My husband and I have decided to take a refund because of all the issues before.  I am certainly not contacting Ryanair as TT are in control of all aspects of my holiday.  I will let you how I get on.
    Thanks Again
    Yvonne

I would do the same and then at least you can look for alternatives holidays later on.

I’d further suggest that you avoid TT and those online travel firms that cobble together separate travel components to create a holiday. They may appear when advertised to be cheapest, but can as you have found come with problems if travel plans don’t go as planned.

I realise you may be limited ex BFS. My thoughts would be to look at Jet2Holidays or TUI for ex BFS or U.K. mainland, at least until the travel uncertainties reduce.  Not as familiar with options ex DUB for the Canaries but again pick a good traditional tour operator. Sunway Holidays might be an option to look at ex DUB.
  • We booked package holiday with credit card.  Long story short flights have been changed by airline for an extra 2 days which o don't have leave for.  Requested to move holiday to September 2021 without confirmation from Teletext Holidays.  Made a claim under Secyuon 75 but has been declined due to the DCS has been broken.  I do not understand this.

You would be best focussing on getting a refund rather than moving the holiday (then when you rebook you can avoid TH altogether)
section 12 of the t&cs covers changes by the supplier(s) and as long as one of your flights has been moved by 12 hours+ this is classed as a significant change and you are entitled to a refund of all moneys paid

  • As I cannot get a response from TH regarding either a refund or change to September I felt the only way was to request a refund under Section 75. Do you advise to continue my claim under Section 75.
  • I am having alot of trouble getting TH custoner support to return my calls.  I have moved my flights 19 May 2021 to 15 September 2021 to Tenerife as per TH instruction emailed details to TH for for accommodation to be changed but TH have been promised someone will ring me back later that day but nobody gets ever gets back 2 me.  What should I do.
  • Ongoing problem with TH.  Booking was transferred to May 2022 only to discover on checkin that TH ceased trading.  Tried to make claim through TTA but no success. They keep saying ring back in 10 days.  This is hopeless.  They cannot confirm if the have received my claim.

There appears to be a huge problem with claims following the collapse of Truly Travel, the company behind Teletext Holidays and Alpha Rooms. We are talking of thousands of customers claiming they are owed money but I have no means of establishing whether that figure is correct or not.

The company ceased trading last October, there was considerable publicity but you obviously missed it. If you paid by credit, not a debit card, you can make a section 75 claim but if you originally paid by a debit card, which it seems a lot of people did, you are almost certainly too late to claim as there is usually a 120-day limit to claim. Having said that, if you were due to travel in May, you could argue the 120 days ran from that date and ask the card issuer for a chargeback.

If none of that works, contact your MP, a number of them have been putting pressure on the Business Secretary to take action, but not sure whether we have a Business Secretary anymore as of today, also report the issue to Citizens Advice who will pass the issue onto Surrey Trading Standards for investigation
