So therefore my holiday in May 2021 is not covered by Atol. If the airline cancel flights again or if we are advised by WHO or Government not to travel to Tenerife what are my rights. I feel TT have been underhand in tell me to contact the airline especially in the current pandemic. I do have travel insurance just in case you were wondering.
This is a very poor service from a company who's website advertises that they offer a secure service.0 -
Hi, it's me. My Trading Standards contact has had a death in the family and is in the midst of arranging a funeral. He hopes to be able to respond next week but this 'technical hitch' for months sounds like complete nonsense to me, I am sure they have been issuing ATOL Certificates to new bookings otherwise there would be lots of complaints here as they are "frequent visitors" I will respond again as soon as I can2

Westin at long last we have received our ATOL certificate from Teletext holidays. I got an text message to contact them which I did on Tuesday evening and after a long conversation with a customer service agent he finally agreed to email my cert. I printed off yesterday and all is good. Thank you for all your assistance with this matter. Perseverance pays off eventually.
Regards
Yvonne

Great news!
So glad you managed to get things sorted out. And thank you for returning to the thread to update.1 -
That is great news, maybe it was just a mistake but bearing in mind the level of complaints it may just be a tip of an iceberg. This video appears to suggest you are not alone...www.youtube.com/c/TheConsumerLawyer

Westin I have just gone to Ryanair site to put my API I formation on and the flight to Tenerife is cancelled but not the flight from Tenerife to Dublin.
What would you advise me to do? I really do not want to move this booking again after my previous experience with TT holidays.

Dublin? Are you in the Republic of Ireland? All the advice before was based on buying a U.K. departing air inclusive holiday from a U.K. located travel company. There is an Irish financial protection scheme but not one perhaps understandable run by the U.K’s CAA and also Irish consumer laws (although broadly based around the Package Travel Regulations we have).
Regarding your RyanAir flights, if one leg has been cancelled, providing both on the same booking then the airline will cancel and refund the other. They just need to be told of your intentions and desire. Really this should fall to Teletext to deal with (in theory they could find and offer a replacement flight but I can’t see them doing that) but I am not sure how the arrangement dealing with the airline has been left. If you now control the flight element (not sure if you do or not) and the airline has cancelled then you are actually entitled to a refund (on both sectors). You however would need to address refunds with Teletext on the hotel and transfers.
I think you need to call Teletext - ouch.0 -
You need to contact the Commission for Aviation Regulation in Dublin, they are incredibly helpful, not mentioning any similar bodies in the UK. I think Teletext Holidays have an Irish licence to sell flights departing Dublin and the CAR will normally act very quickly to advise and help you0

Guys you will not believe this but when I checked my flights on Ryanair website today they have moved my flight going out from Dublin to Wednesday 19 May 2021and return flight is on Monday 31 May 2021. My dates were 20 May and return 30 May. Hotel and transfers are for 20 May haved been booked. What am going to do now as I have already booked my leave with my employer and I cannot get it extended for 2 extra days. I live in Northern Ireland.
Regards
Yvonne.

With departure day changes like this you should find it easily to cancel and claim a full refund. That might therefore be good news to you.
I am not sure how things have been left with who is controlling the holiday booking. My thoughts are that it should be Teletext and therefore you would need to relay your wishes to them. RyanAir will certainly allow you to cancel and be refunded for the two flights given they have moved by a full day either side. I wouldn’t be tempted to make the RyanAir adjustments yourself as it could leave you with other issues with accommodation that can’t then be refunded.
If you do still wish to going on holiday I suggest you look on the RyanAir website to see what days they are operating DUB TFS DUB flights. You could then ask TT if you can have them check with the airline on other options that better suit.
I think another frustrating call to TT will be necessary. Have in mind what you want as the desired outcome before you speak to them. If seeking a full refund don’t tell them YOU want to cancel but explain that you are aware the airline has cancelled both originally booked flights, the new flights offered do not suit and rather than them find you alternatives you would like a full refund. Be prepared that the call handler may not even be aware of the changes to the RyanAir flights. You may need to spoon feed.
