Moving House

I am moving house in 2 weeks time and the internet provided (Fibrenest) is the only available service to start with. Sky and Virgin can't provide internet there. Reading reviews on Fibrenest, when people have moved into homes where Fibrenest is the only option, there are times when they can't always set you up straight away. My question is, if I don't have access straight away, what should I be looking for to buy in the meantime? Google is a bit confusing. We have someone who works from home, a few phones and a child that plays online on the Xbox.

Is this a new housing estate?  Its quite common for there to only be these sort of providers for the first few years of its existence.  Until then not a lot you can do, unless you look at mobile broadband.

You don't really have any other option than mobile broadband if you don't want to use whats there.Have a shufti here and on line https://www.4g.co.uk/home-broadband
You'd need to find out which providers have a decent 4g service in the area (or even house that you are moving to) as 4g can be very variable and less reliable.
As Neil says, it can be quite some time (if ever) that another supplier can gain access to the estate and even then they aren't actually obliged to if they don't feel that it's commercially viable
Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers

Presumably its a Persimmons home, and Fibrenest is part of the Persimmons group. You could reasonably expect that Persimmons ensures that the service is live on day 1, I would have thought a one stop shop was one of the selling points of them locking out other providers.
