Hi,
Am interested in an HSBC CC. Frustratingly they no longer offer an eligibility checker online.
Ive got my current account with them and was wondering if they give any indication through the app / online banking as to your eligibility?

I can’t see anything other than the general CC info so was wondering if that’s the same across the board or if other customers see something different?

That’s so strange. I know there’s a this is money article saying in March 2020 they didn’t have this option but they certainly did I used it.
Wonder why they’ve taken it down. Maybe it’s a short term thing and it’s getting fixed.
I can’t see anything on my app indicating anything about an alternative0 -
Given the pandemic it's hardly surprising that lenders are more reticent. Simply too much uncertainty and rapidly changing personal circumstances.0

I don't think that's worthy of removing a checker. Nearly every other bank has one on their site. Seems an odd decision personally.Thrugelmir said:Given the pandemic it's hardly surprising that lenders are more reticent. Simply too much uncertainty and rapidly changing personal circumstances.0 -
Doesn’t HSBC CC appear on comparison sites like ClearScore/mse etc. That might show your eligibility0

Some might think "Oh hang on no eligibility checker I'm not risking a search without knowing my eligibility first" that then stops them from applying.I agree that its not a worthy excuse to remove there checker. Also there are a few banks that still don't have one, for example TSB, John Lewis Partnership Card and Tesco Bank, Tesco Bank were supposed to be launching an eligibility checker last year, though I should imagine the current excuse for not having one is the Pandemic.Time is a path from the past to the future and back again. The present is the crossroads of both. :cool:0 -
When you go into the app, click on "More" then "Credit Cards" does it just load the "Discover credit cards" page?adamp87 said:That’s so strange. I know there’s a this is money article saying in March 2020 they didn’t have this option but they certainly did I used it.

The Marks and Spencers card is provided via HSBC - so their requirements MAY be broadly similar (But may not be) - and they do have an eligibility check - so in theory - you could see if M&S said yes to gain an idea of whether HSBC might say yes. No guarantees of course - but just an idea to consider:0

I found M&S and HSBC had different criteria for approvals. I was approved for one and not the other.0

Should it not show a discover page then? Can you please elaborate as mine used to show that page I think. Is that not normal?Frontera2 said:
