Is it too early to change broadband provider now - March 11th finish date

Hi,
My contract with Plusnet finishes on March 11th - I assume it is too soon to look to be changing providers? Or can I sign up with anew provider now and get them to start the next contract on March 12th?
I was going to stay with Plusnet who have offered me £22.99 from me for 18 months if I sign up by tomorrow. But the small print says in March of this year and March of 2022 they will up the price by £3.7% ABOVE inflation each time.

It's 30 days notice normally
Almost ALL broadband suppliers have CPI increase clauses , I think talk talk were the only one capping increasesEx forum ambassador

Early exit fees would apply if you move away before March 11. No penalty free switching window exists like you see in gas/electricity.The small print thing about price increases was introduced in October last year:https://www.plus.net/help/legal/cpi-plus-guide/ - "These [CPI] price increases will apply to you if:
- you signed up to a contract with Plusnet on or after 7th October 2020; and/or
- You're a customer whose fixed price contract minimum term ends on or after 2nd December 2020, and that minimum term has now ended; and/or
- You signed up to a BT Sport service on or after 9th December 2020. Please note that if the above two bullet points don't apply to you, only the price of your BT Sport service will increase by CPI plus 3.9%."
This is already a thing for Sky TV (has been for years) and presumably broadband/phone and other providers are doing the same.

Is that the automatic offer from Plusnet in the 'My Account' part of the website or have you actually spoken to the Customer Options Team (phone Plusnet and take the option for wanting to cancel your account)?
I find that the customer options team normally give a better option than the one on their website.
Having said that, to answer your question, I would normally wait until a month before contract expiry before signing up elsewhere although I seen to remember reading somewhere (possibly their own forum) that Plusnet allow you to leave 40 days before expiry with no charge.

They sent me an email last Thursday. I can't see a time limit on the 'offer'. Just a big 'sign me up' button.
I don't want to leave prior to the 11th March. Was just looking at a bunch of deals with TT & Plusnet themselves that expire tomorrow and was wondering whether I could sign up a new deal to start on March 12th.
My Plusnet email offer is a quid less than the offer on their site but has those 3.7% price increases attached.
I have not had a problem with them - touch wood - other than their 5Ghz router issues but I turned off 5Ghz.This is not financial nor legal nor property advice. Consult a paid professional if in doubt.0 -
As a general rule its not usually possible to specify a specific date for switchover, it will almost certainly be 17 days or so from when you fill out a form.1

I had no idea of 17ish being the number. That is really useful info. Thanks. This is not financial nor legal nor property advice. Consult a paid professional if in doubt.0 -

Remember you have 14 days cooling off for a start. It may be more than 17, so please don't take it as gospel, as it will vary.
