The Insurance company's solicitor.
The losses for both us and the insurance company.Treat others how you would like to be treated. 🤞0 -
You may be going through all this just to recover the £200 excess, I wouldn't expect the future insurance renewal to reduce even if you are successful.
Insurance companies were clever many years ago and changed the wording from something like 'have you been in an accident that was your fault' to something like "have you /your vehicle been involved in an accident'.
On the last 15 years I've been stung twice.
I was sat in a family members house and someone hit my car parked on the road. Second one was again whilst car was parked and a neighbor's chimney pit fell onto my car.
Not covered under their house insurance as it wasn't a known issue.
I think it's absolutely bonkers that you can be penalised for something like the above but apparently so.0 -

It's not bonkers, insurance algorithms base the premiums on risk, statistically if you are in an accident, even one that is not your fault, you are more likely to be in another accident. Example 1 - you park in an area with known bad drivers. Example 2 - you live near someone who has a house that isn't in the best shape. You can see the logic in inflating the premiums because they expect you may make a claim again in the future.
