As above, what is the exact reason you have been given for changing radiators, it makes no sense as the boiler and the radiators are two different things.
By an awful co incidence my boiler broke down yesterday and we got an emergency plumber out this morning , long story short- it is looking terminal and due to the make and age of our boiler the recommendation is to replace the boiler which we have agreed to do once we get a quote. However, when we change the boiler it will just go back into the same radiator system as before, we don’t need new radiators and when we installed this boiler years ago we didn’t change them then either. When the boiler is changed , hopefully soon as we have no hot water and no heating, the plumber will flush the radiator system after installation but that’s it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. How would I make the downstairs heaters work. They where working before the engineer opened the boiler.
The radiators have been bleed for air. Flushed with hose . They are still not working0 -
Upstairs radiator working only 2 downstairs0

The whole system needs a proper flush out but that takes time. The plumber is taking the quickest option and the one that makes him most £ for the least work - his mark up on the new rads and weighing the old ones in for scrap - not have the messy job of hosing out the old rads in the garden.

Is the flush suitable for plastic pipes it has a magnaclean filter also he did take the radiators out and used a green hose to clean but no luck. The new one downstairs stopped working he turned one off upstairs and then downstairs one worked?
Thanks.

What on earth is going on? Find a new reputable plumber to come and look at this. How long was the magnaclean inplace for? This should in theory reduce the sludge. As for cleaning it with the hose - did water come out the other side of the rad? If so its fine. What pipes are wrong as per their suggestion? If for some reason the loop is going through a radiator instead of teeing off at every one, this could stop some rads working if you close others down.0
