Halifax ultimate boiler cover plumber broke boiler?

Options
A friend recommend this site for advice. I need some help please.
My boiler temperature gauge was on 4 . The heating and hot water was working .
I decided to call Halifax boiler insurance to maybe fix the issue. I knew they might not come so I told them my heating only little bit working. I said the pressure gauge is on 4.
The plumber came I showed him the heating working and that the faults with pressure gauge on 4.
We had the boiler for 5 years no problems. He said the pipes where not assembled correctly and we are not covered .
At this point once he said it's not covered he should not have opened the boiler he got his pump and pumped the vessel and did a few other stuff for 40 mins.
After he was leaving I told him the heating not working but he said it will come on. He said the pipe fix is easy but not covered.
He left the heating wasn't working downstairs only upstairs we called Halifax back as they manage to do something to the boiler to make downstairs heaters stop working. They said as pipes are wrong they don't want to know.
I now called a plumber who said when he pump air in vessels the sludge I think he said has gone in the radioheater and needs to be changed. I now have to change all radioheater.
I want to ask if the Halifax plumber said it's not covered why did he open the boiler and pump air into vessels. Should I ask him to put back in portion where guages is 4 and all heating and hot water working.
Thanks

If there is sludge in the radiators they do not need to be changed, the system just needs a flush through.

He was probably attempting to get the system to the correct pressure so that it gave you hot water, which you had told him it was not producing.

As you had told them it was not working and now it is not working, I am sure that they would be prepared to confirm that they can put it into a non-working state...

"Gauge is 4" is meaningless, without knowing what the gauge is and what "4" relates to, if that is BAR then that is very high, boilers usually operate at 1.5-2 BAR and have a habit of breaking/leaking above that, they are not designed to deal with pressures that high, they can theoretically burst a pipe or explode the heat exchanger. It is also likely that at 4 BAR the pressure relief valve will have kicked in, so you have to question why the pressure is still that high. However that presumes you are talking about BAR on the heating system pressure gauge.

  • Yes bar was on 4 its now on 1.5 to 2.5 . The plumber has drained the radiator with a hose technique to clean them but has not work. He turned some off upstairs and it seemed to make a 2 out of 7 radiator downstairs work. I also took air out if radiators but it's not working should we still change them thanks
  • also took air out if radiators but it's not working

You have topped the water pressure back up, after bleeding the radiators?
What pressure is the gauge showing now?

  • 2 bars in green
  • This is my boiler

    No.
  • Why are you changing the radiators. Mine have been fitted 18 years and not once have I considered changing them. You are being conned! I doubt by the so called Halifax plumber!
