COVID ‘Contact’ Forced to take Sick

Options

My daughter lives in Wales & works in a prison. She has just been sent home from work for 10 days as a colleague has had a positive COVID test. My daughter has been named as a possible contact. The 10 days, she has been told is NOT paid & SSP is 3 days unpaid & the rest is Company Sick Pay whatever that is(?) My daughter has no symptoms &  although she understands the precautions/rules but why should she be penalised with no pay & get a sick record to boot, when other than having to go into work following those guidelines she barely goes out & if she does follows all the government guidelines!

I think it’s an absolute disgrace to treat essential workers so shabbily! Has anyone else had any similar issues & Is there anything she can do?! TIA
