PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. Threads that are found to have derailed into wider discussions may be removed. Users who repeatedly disregard this may have their Forum account banned. Please also avoid posting personally identifiable information, including links to your own online property listing which may reveal your address. Thank you for your understanding.

Firsttimebuyer2021 said:Hi everyone, Just a quick update!Unfortunately after a few attempts at booking an appointment with Persimmon we never heard back from them!Good news however, My partner and myself are hopefully going to be putting offers in the next few month once restrictions lift more and 5% mortgages are back and will hopefully be buying in July (However it will probably be an existing build and not a new one)Go for detached if you can. You dont even need inconsiderate neighbours, just slightly noisy ones or ones whose times of being up and about dont coincide with yours, to turn your lovely hosue into somewhere between a perpetual annoyance and nightmare. Those few extra inches of spaces make all the difference insulating you. This will also pay back when you come to sell later, as will having a drive, that extra £20k or whatever will multiply up several fold most likely, and if not, at least will make your house more saleable. Around where I live many have extended into their integral garages in a variety of ways, it does give you more options than an attached garage.0
