Easyjet - current refund/moving flights clarification

Can I just check my understanding of the current situation with Easyjet regarding upcoming flights and where I stand with moving flights, getting a refund, taking a voucher etc

I have flights to Tenerife booked at Easter.  These flights were moved from last Easter when everything was just kicking off with COVID-19 to August and then again to this Easter.  Its looking increasingly likely that this Easter will be going the same way.  I’ve taken my eye off the ball with all this, but it looks like I’m going to have to do something with the booking again.

Last year I was able to move the flights with no admin fees.  I can’t see any mention of that anymore.  Am I correct in assuming this would incur an admin fee if I move the flights again?  Is there any time limit to moving the flights?  How far ahead are Easyjet taking bookings at the moment?

Am I correct in thinking that the only way I am going to get a refund is if the flights are actually cancelled by Easyjet?  If the flight actually takes off, I don’t get anything back?

At what stage would they be offering a voucher?  Is that the same conditions as for a refund?

Am I right in thinking that you can only use the voucher against a flight, not against an Easyjet package holiday?

In an ideal world, I’d like my money back, but I’m not adverse to moving the booking again.  My flights were actually cancelled last Easter so I could have had a refund.  Not my best decision with hindsight, but who knew back then?  Once it all blows over, I’ll resume 3 or 4 trips per year (which was my thinking behind moving the flights)

Any confirmation/clarifications gratefully received

There is a section on the Easyjet website that should cover most of your questions
    https://www.easyjet.com/en/help/preparing-to-fly/latest-travel-information

If your flight has not been cancelled:

If you are due to fly to or from a destination during a period when the country or region is subject to a government lockdown travel ban, to provide you with some flexibility, we currently have these options available.

      1. Switch to another easyJet flight for free. This includes the option to select a different arrival and departure airport within the same country of the original booking if you wish.
      2. Choose a voucher for the full value of your ticket. The voucher is valid for 12 months from the date of issue and gives you the flexibility to book travel anywhere on our network when you're ready to fly.
      3. Request a refund. Please note, we are doing our best to process refund requests in the shortest possible time.

To discuss these options, contact our Customer Services Team.

Please note, changes must be made at least 2 hours before departure.

If you search for flight availability you can see where they are currently booking up to...a random London to Tenerife shows bookings available up to end March 22 (different routes may vary)

Best advice is to wait and see what the situation is closer to departure (I doubt they will give the non-cancelled options unless it is confirmed that restrictions are applicable for your travel dates) note: they appear to be now offering refund option for non-cancelled flights if restrictions in place

In addition to what Caz has provided above, you can change the dates of an easyJet flight with no admin fee as long as you make the change at least 14 days before you fly. Any fare difference will be payable.

There are currently enhanced flexibility options as per the above post. Whether these will be in place in the future is a case of wait and see.

You’re right that if the flight leaves and you are a no show, then there’ll be no refund entitlement.  (i.e. you’ll have had to make a date change or requested refund/vouchers depending on what is available at the time, before the departure date)

I think you’re also right that easyJet vouchers and easyJet Holidays vouchers are not interchangeable.

      Thank you for the replies.
Don't know how I missed the section on the website. D'oh! Good news about the no admin fees.
I will give it a few more weeks yet.
I think I'll stick to package holidays from companies with a good track record of refunds for the foreseeable future rather than separate flights and accommodation

      A further development on this.
The return flights have been moved by a full day. One of the options in the email was for a refund. I won't be able to make the new dates ie stay an extra day Can I get a refund for both flights (out and return)? Or are they just talking about a refund for the return flight?

If you request a refund you'll get a refund for all flights on the booking.

Checked on the Easyjet website and it seems to suggest that both flights would be refunded

'Once the online refund request is processed, it will be applied to all flights on the booking, excluding any flights that have already been flown.'

I don't want to click the button on this and find that my return flight gets refunded, but I'm stuck with the outgoing flight.

Tried calling but they are asking that you leave the call if your flight is more than 14 days away.

Anybody been in the same situation?  I could move the flights (again) or ask for a voucher, but I'm thinking that this is just dragging on now.  What are people's experiemces with the vouchers?  Is there any hassle in using them?

If you click the button, then as per the paragraph you’ve quoted, all flights will be refunded.

Thank you (missed your first reply)

Reading elsewhere about people taking vouchers last year. Bought flights with vouchers which have now been cancelled. No refunds as booked with vouchers, vouchers only.  Going to apply for a refund

Yes.  If you accept a voucher, then when you book a new flight your payment method is voucher. So if the new flight is cancelled they will refund by that payment method. It’s essentially like buying a gift voucher for a high street retailer.

Take the refund, it’s the best thing to do with all the uncertainly at the moment. Takes easyJet a few weeks, but you’ll get it.
