Need a TV for the kitchen... but which one?

I haven't bought a TV in about 10 years so have very little idea what's possible in a modern 'smart' TV. Perhaps someone here can help.
It would be used for watching TV off various websites other than youtube/netflix, so needs to have good browser compatibility and speed. Still supporting Flash might be an advantage here. Would spend a lot of the time streaming internet radio for when we want music in the kitchen, so sound quality is quite important. Picture quality is completely unimportant. Could be up to 30 inches size. Would be nice to use it to show pictures from mobiles, and remote control from a mobile would be an advantage if it avoids having an extra remote kicking around, so an app that does that would be nice. The place where the TV sits will have a wired connection to the router, so it doesn't need wifi (but I suspect every smart TV has wifi anyway).
I can see a smart TV is one way to go, but there are also various streaming dongles, I don't know what to choose. I heard most smart TVs will be junk in a few years anyway because most of them can't get firmware updates beyond that. Then again, I had an android STB once in the past but my experience with it wasn't that great, the remote keyboard and 'magic' mouse was fiddly and hard to get used to, and it was slow to interact with.
There is no budget here really, as I said, don't need the latest O/QLED set, but it does need to have a decent processor, sound and a good user experience.
Thanks!

If it is all streaming would a monitor(old TV with a suitable input) with a small format PC strapped to the back be an option.
Any spare old TV still working you can grab off family/friend0 -
My main TV is non-smart with a HTPC running Kodi, but in the living room there's space for a keyboard, mouse and so on. And because we only watch movies on that, I can use the Kodi remote on my mobile. But that's a pain to switch over to the desktop and open the web browser, which has to be done at the keyboard. I was hoping to get something a bit more integrated and easy to use for the kitchen. Also, there isn't space for a keyboard in the kitchen. Thanks.

Check out Firestick and voice control in place of remote .

My 6 year old LG smart TV still has some functioning apps, but not all. The web browser on my TV is pretty rubbish functionality wise - very clunky so haven't used it for a few years. Maybe a non-smart TV with a smart box?0
