    I"m sure we've all had calls about car accidents, tax refunds, a problem with your computer, Amazon Prime, but these are thinsg that you'd get a high hit rate with. Most households have cars, computers, tax, bought something on Amazon*.
    But selling bonds for investment is incredibly specialised, the hit rate will be really low and not worth taking the time to call at random, you'd need a list  of likely to be interested people to start with to make it worth your while.

    * and that one is an automated prerecorded phone call, not a person because theres not enough people with AMazon Prime to make teh hit rate worthwhile to use a persons time.  In contrast it seems the OP had a  personal call.
