Spray the hooks and get it to dribble down inside to the moving parts.
  • May have been a bit of swarf inside the mech . could be the middle gearbox has let one of the cogs click away one . if its a separate gear box and claw & roller mechanism leave the rivets and 2 grub screws on the front plate will get it detached . Just make sure the back movable section is seated right . Sounds like youre fairly handy . you could have a play around with the keepers see if you can get them a bit slacker but still keep the seal good . Always worth getting an upgraded eurocylinder anti snap bump pick ect . Most decent ones are giving a grand back if you can get through them . sound like you've bought an ABS or Avocet /Yale if its 3 star safe its good just make sure all the screws are in the mech and keepers stops them shifting . ( and your handles are tight too)

Yes, it was a Yale 3 star offering as was the easiest option to get quickly in a 40/40 size... many online shops didnt given confidence of when exactly it would be delivered in the current situation and as I have to go to my workshop/office each day the Mrs was effectively a prisoner 8am-7pm as the door couldnt be locked from the outside and its our only exit.

Would more say that I am happy to give most things a bit of a go rather than actually being handy. Unfortunately I am not very accurate and so things dont tend to end up very level etc... thankfully the TV wall mount has leveling fine tuning screws so corrected the ~5 degree slope I created.

Its similar that I've made a workbench in the workshop and it looks great but its because its painted so I could plug the gaps from my inaccurate cutting and you cannot tell... the Mrs is still insistent that this means I can make an oak dining table though and won't accept it requires a different level of accuracy if its to be oiled wood finish.
