Replacement under The Consumer Act

Hi all.
I have a TV that cannot be repaired and the retailer have informed they will replace it. The model is 4 years old and was £899 at the time and the one they have offered is £569. What are my rights regarding the replacement as I think this is a low blow? It cannot be the exact same spec as it was a 3D tv and they don’t make these anymore.

It is normally pro rata cost over a period of time, getting a £569 TV four years later seems incredibly generous by normal standards and specification wise should comfortably exceed what you had before, excluding the 3D obviously.3

I agree, it seems a good offer to me.0

It may have been £899 at the time, but how much would a second hand 4 year old one fetch today? Plus you normally find that tv's do get cheaper after even a year or two, as manufacturers have made their research/design money back and refined their production processes and techniques to reduce the unit cost. Giving you a brand new tv the same price would mean 4 years free use which would be a betterment.
You've also not said what (if any) the differences in spec are.You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride1 -
Unholy It's not 3d as they don't make them anymore.
OP it's a great offer, if you don't like the TV ask if you can put the money towards a better one. who is the retailer?

It’s John Lewis but I suppose after 4 years that’s true. I spoke to CAB if you cannot replace like for like then you can request a partial refund too, just not keen on the replacement one they’ve offered0

And it’s not as aesthetically pleasuring to look at; saw it before in the shops and the frame is quite thick and black. Mine was very thin and silver0
