I managed to get them on the phone yesterday and see why they hadn't responded to our claim.
He finally found my email and the reason they told me they hadn't dealt with the claim is because the email came from a different email address that they had on their records, which was an error on my part, but my husband name is easily identifiable from both email addresses. I told them this was a pathetic excuse, as our address is in the email and the policy number is in the subject line. They now tell me that I have to allow 20 working days for the claim to be resolved, bearing in mind I have already waited almost that from originally sending the email on 20th December. They even asked me if the tyre had been changed (erm, my husband has been driving about with a puncture since the middle of December!)
Unfortunately, my frustration was wasted on him, as he was foreign anyway and barely understood anything I was saying.
We are going to wait and see when they resolve this claim and then notify them to cancel, (no I'm not just going to cancel the DD).Striving to clear the mortgage before it finishes in Dec 2028 - amount currently owed - £26,322.670 -
Often, in fact usually, paint insurance, dent insurance and tyre insurance are sold as part of a deal at the dealers. They aren't actually sold as a per month, but as a one off fee added as a part of or as separate finance to the finance secured on the car. So for example, it might be £450 over the term of the loan divided over the number of payments. In these circumstances, you would have paid a lump sum not a monthly insurance.0
