Whilst digging about for cheap PAYG deals, ASDA mobile currently 8ppm, 4pp text, 5pp Mb on EE's network, is moving back to Vodafone's network. See https://asdamobile.com/help/network-coverage/asda-mobile-network
No mention of how or if it may affect PAYG rates yet. When it left Vodafone before it was 10ppm.

Surprising that they're moving back, if I recall correctly Vodafone wanted to get rid of as many MVNOs piggy backing it's network around the time of OVIVO. Wonder what's changed

You missed the "We will also be bringing even cheaper standard rates and more affordable, easier to manage bundles." on the link you provided (my bold)?Phones4Chris said: No mention of how or if it may affect PAYG rates yet.

Well good luck with ASDA. I have been waiting since July for them to announce their new credit card.Learn from yesterday, live for today, hope for tomorrow. The important thing is not to stop questioning. Albert Einstein0

Well I didn't, as I was thinking "Standard" rates might refer to prices of things like non-geographic calls, MMS messages etc BUT they do say their "standard tariff" is the 8ppm/4p txt/5p MB https://asdamobile.com/help/bundles-and-pricing/standard-tariff so we'll have to see what they come up with, as it's a bit speculative atm. It'll be great if they do come down, thanks for highlighting the point as it'll encourage me to keep a closer watch on it than I might otherwise have doneRodders53 said:

Virgin was going to switch from piggybacking on EE to Vodafone before they were bought by O2, so it sounds as if there's something going on with EE and piggybacking.

I’m sure you are correct. BT Mobile are pointing customers towards EE tariffs when they upgrade.Supatramp said:Virgin was going to switch from piggybacking on EE to Vodafone before they were bought by O2, so it sounds as if there's something going on with EE and piggybacking.0 -
They obviously want to cut out the middle man - they have BT mobile, EE and Plusnet already.Supatramp said:Virgin was going to switch from piggybacking on EE to Vodafone before they were bought by O2, so it sounds as if there's something going on with EE and piggybacking.
I can see the EE brand going completely leaving BT and Plusnet mirroring their landline offering plus some niche MVNOs.0 -
