Hi,
just wondered if anyone knows if this is possible with orange;
my contract ends in 30 days time and i want to go on PAYG with them (cost cutting ). my sister, who is a PAYG customer with orange is in the market for a contract and I was thinking of upgrading and getting a decent deal ( new phone maybe ).
my question is, can we both still keep our respective numbers (i.e) can my contract be switched to her sim meaning she can keep her number ???
any advise would be much appreciated, thanks!!!!

You will both be able to retain your numbers. If you change from a contract to a pay as you go account then you will not get a new handset. Phone Orange (on 150 from your mobile) and let them know you want to move your number to pay as you go, they will then send you a new SIM card. You will need to phone Orange as soon as you receive the new sim card as your contract will remain active until this has taken place.
Your sister can shop around and transfer her existing number to a contract account. A fairly smooth process I think.0 -

ugrade your number, get a good deal, then change the contract to your sisters number and make yours pay as you go?
so you=paug
sister= contract but with your upgrade deal
no, you cant, when you upgrade you have to keep the same number,
youd have to cancel your contract and change it to paug (when you cancel theyll ask if you want to put the number on paug and send you a sim)
she'd have to get her own just a new contract (orange direct have upto £10 off a month)Yes Your Dukeiness

transferring payg to contract nets a 10% discount on a priceplan just now so take Dolphin 35, get 3.50 off and take one of the phones with 180 credit and get 10 pound credit a month, meaning 13.50 off a month = 21.50 a month for 600 mins & unlimited texts

with all of the above you are also in a great bargaining tool to negotiate a great deal if you want to cut costs, tell them going to payg then doing the above is what you intend to do, but you would rather not have a new handset so what can they offer you given the above works out as a great deal, how can they better it ?
SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe

thanks for your responses!!!
after looking on the orange shop link i think i'll go to them and try and get a good upgrade deal, pass the phone on to my sister (i.e) change DD details & billing address and i'll just get a new sim for me!
i already get the below before this upgrade;
500 minutes
500 texts
free orange care
£25 a month - i'll see if i can get this reduced and bag a new phone, if not at least get the phone chucked in!!!!!!!!!
thanks again0
