How do I find historic credit scores?

Options
Hello,

I signed up to LOQBOX in September 2019 with their 50 points promise however my score has not increased by 50 points and they’re asking me to show them my Credit Score from September 2019. Credit Karma doesn’t have the ability to go back. ClearScore does but it doesn’t show my credit score (I only signed up to it today) it does however show old debt. Experian’s site states they cannot locate me and there’s no way to start again.

i can’t seem to find any useful information on google search so thought I’d ask here.

Your help elm would be greatly received.

Steve

Why do you care about your credit score?  It means nothing.  Just make sure your credit HISTORY is correct.

Hi, I paid a further £10 extra per month with LOQBOX for 12 months for their 50 points price promise and I’ve not received it. My credit history is correct as I check regularly.

Your credit score and rating are only used by you, lenders see and use the credit history as part of their assessment when deciding whether to allow you credit.

You've wasted time and money on it.

Oh dear, sorry you fell for this....

LOQBOX's FAQ reiterates that scores aren't actually used by anyone (thereby rendering their proposition futile) and also documents the need to capture your starting position if you do decide it's worth spaffing £120 on:

How much will LOQBOX grow my credit score by?

There are too many influencing factors outside of LOQBOX for us to give you an exact figure.

We’ve been doing this long enough that we’re confident you’ll build your credit score.

Also, it’s worth remembering that lenders don’t base their decisions on your credit score – they look at your credit history. As long as you make your LOQBOX payments each month, you should be more creditworthy in their eyes.

    [...]

What happens if my score doesn’t go up as promised?

If, after all 12 monthly credit builder payments, your credit score hasn’t grown by at least 10, 25 or 50 points (depending on which Points Promise you opted for), simply get in touch with our customer support team via our help page.

Before they calculate and send you the interest you’re due, they’ll just need a copy of your current credit report to show what your credit score is now, and a screenshot of what your credit score was when you started LOQBOX.

(That’s why we recommend taking a screenshot of your credit score when you first sign up. You’ll need it if you want a personalised LOQBOX financial plan anyway, so that’s a handy way to make sure you remember.)

  • OK le sigh I guess. Entirely my doing.

Thank you for your help. Stay safe.
  • You too my friend.

Please avoid these services in future, simply having car or home insurance on monthly payments has the same effect on your creditworthiness as loqbox.
  • I get my credit score from Mable at number 65. She counts the tea leafs. That is how much your score is worth!

This should be a lesson to other people not to use Loqbox, a waste of money and not worth it
  • Especially considering that withdrawing your funds without incurring a £30 fee necessitates opening a new account with one of their "partners" which involves a credit search and a new account on your credit file - potentially irradicating any positive impact the 12 month loan account from Loqbox may have had.
