Last June I was cajoled by an over-zealous sales rep into renewing our Plusnet Broadband & Phone deal. I could kick myself! I never normally allow myself to do this.
The price increased from £18 to £28.99 a month.  However I learned my lesson & at the time it was a great service.
Of late I've had to call them twice regarding buffering on the TVs & Internet dropping. No problem (apart from long wait times) with the repair service, and each time it's been mended - but I feel I'm paying extra for a poor service & locked in to this deal!
However during calls it was suggested that maybe an upgrade to Fibre may improve our service & prevent this buffering etc.
Passed onto Sales & Retentions we were offered their Unlimited Fibre package including calls at £32.99 a month - another increase (albeit a lot more than what's currently on offer - around £23 by Now).  Sales rep today was VERY rude - I ended up on phone almost 2 HOURS! to no avail. She said she'd given me £12.53 discount on the £32.99 offer, when in fact she'd over-inflated the original broadband price, & actually the discount was only £2.51 ! so I didn't accept the email contract from Lightico she sent me.
I don't mind paying a bit more as long as it ensures the service, so I asked if this could be for the remainder of what I thought was an 18 month package, only to be told that in June I was sold a 2 YEAR package! so the best they could offer was an 18 month deal.
  • Would this be a get-out way?
  • I cant get out of my original package - or can I ??
Any ideas folks please?

    Yes it probably would .
But how are you connected to TV and Internet may be more relevant  .Is it the best method via Ethernet cable or via WiFi .

I see no reason from your post to cancel without penalty .
You took out a 24 month package in June you should have details of this .

Sorry to say, it's likely that the emails etc you received in June told you the contract terms, and there's also a 'countdown' in your online Plusnet account too, so if this is different to emails you have from June, you could challenge them, otherwise I'd say you're stuck. The fibre deal isn't the best, but not the worst, and may be worth taking for 18 months. The best thing I did was switch to fibre - virtually no dropouts ever and 3 or 4 people streaming at the same, no problems
