When can I ditch and go elsewhere?

Hi.

Apologies all, not very technical.

Contract with EE finishes 10/02/21. I am planning to go SIM only elsewhere as I don't want to be tied into another long term contract.

When can I request my PAC code with EE to prevent any early termination fees? Can I request now to carry out the 30 day notice or do I have to wait until 10/02?

Thanks.

PAC is valid for 30 days.  When it is used your current contract will be cancelled. If you use it before your current minimum term finishes you will be required to pay any early termination fees as set out in that contract.  They are highly likely to be minimal if there is only a few days left.  If you give the PAC to your new provider on the final day you won't need to pay any and the extra money required for a couple of days on the old contract until the switch won't be much.

I'm pretty sure last time I requested a PAC by text, the text included the amount I owed if used by a certain date. Get the PAC now anyway and wait to use it if you're concerned.
