Bonus points for trying the ‘I don’t find it helpful anymore because I’ve wound myself up to the point of finding the woman’s voice annoying because she didn’t let me have my money back’ method 😂 Classic.

Maybe don’t sign up to the Pilates class, so you don’t feel you are paying for the same thing twice. Or find another Pilates class which doesn’t offer it free to make yourself feel psychologically better.

If the course isn't for you/of help to you, why was it then attractive when the other service was giving free access to it?

I get you're disappointed you could have gotten a better deal, but unfortunately I think it's resulting in some squinting of your view.i think most people will have entered into a deal they later regret. It's no different to buying something at £400 then seeing it in a sale for £300 2 weeks later. Yeah you could have gotten it cheaper, but you obviously didn't know that at the time or you would've waited. Hindsight is 20/20.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride
  • To clarify the Pilates course doesn't give free access to it you pay a £40 fee which includes the course the standalone course is £40 so you effectively pay £40 again for a voucher to use the course. You can’t join the Pilates course without paying the fee.

When you sign up the t&c say you can refund in 14 days if you haven’t watched more than 20% of the content it’s only when you read small print  (not visible at point of sale) you see the clause about it not being helpful. Obviously I shouldn’t have been honest and just said I didn’t like it as it is I’m now stuck with a voucher for the course I paid for less than 72 hours prior. I was honest as didn’t see the problem as I had a voucher to redeem for the same value!

Sure hindsight and all that. Although I’m not planning on completing the course now via either platform. I’ll just have to write it off as a loss.

It's not a loss, though. You bought something you wanted, you like it and you still have it.  How can that be considered a loss you have to write off?

Just enjoy the course you paid for and were happy with 12 hours ago.
  • I won’t enjoy it now though will I. The whole point of hypnobirthing is this is the voice you want in labour with you. You are going to be conditioning yourself to relax based on the cues of the lady. How many of you would want to fall asleep or give birth with the voice of a trader you have had a lengthy disagreement by email with. It’s not going to relax me I don’t want her at my birth. It’s better to write it off and find someone new.

Unfortunately that is due to your own actions and not the trader. Can you not just try and pretend it’s someone else or accept you made a mistake and move on, I am sure she is good at her job if other companies are using her service too

That's a situation of your own making, I'm afraid, but I understand why you now don't want to use it.
  • Yes I know I just need to accept it and move on. I don’t want to use the course they aren’t going to refund me as I originally liked it (fine although irritating as if I hadn’t been honest there wouldn’t have been an issue). I’m still in the 14 days and just need to accept we are at impasse and let it go.

It’s not a great attitude to go through in life ‘if only I’d lied I could have scammed the company’ It won’t get you very far.

They are a company providing a good service, as you admit you liked it. They do not deserve people lying to get their money back. That’s not how the world works and it’s not how you should look at things.
  • I didn’t lie though did I - I was honest.
I’m just pointing out that their terms and conditions effectively are not objective. There is an element of subjectivity which could encourage such behaviour. Would be better to have a fair policy where everyone who meets the quantifiable elements of the t&c can have money back. I haven’t even opened the second course so no idea if it’s helpful or not.
