On your next fridge if I can make a suggestion, find a brand which offers 2 years or 3 years warranty or even consider the insurance/cover plan protection if the value is decent at least then you have peace of mind.markhumpy said:
Ha indeed - steering clear of Kenwoood!Spank said:There's a reason they are cheap, as you know.
The technology and parts they use in todays electronics is crap basically so its going to fall apart after a few months if not few years if you are lucky.
Small stuff like microwaves, toasters if they are £40-60 look at them as disposable but the biguns like washing machines, fridges which are typically £200-300+ you want max warranty cover or separate insurance cover with them.
You can also consider D&G they sometimes offer insurances and repairs on goods too.1 -
Actually finished up getting £350 credit, my £179 engineer fee and £30 collection of old fridge back. New fridge/freezer on its way, less spent on this one and better rated so not worth paying extra cover IMO0

Thanks for coming back and updating,
Sounds like you're happy with the outcome, so here's hoping to problem free new one.1 -
For future ref, if John Lewis stock it, try a 'never knowingly undersold' claim. Curry's is a company they will match.markhumpy said:Currys appear by far the cheapest and largest choice ive seen so far....0
