  • It doesnt detail that, was just based on the engineer inspection, i guess its not for him to determine manufacturer defect or not, although it certainly wasnt caused by me - the unit has been in same position in my kitchen since it was delivered by Currys
  • So an update - they have offered £242 as their full/final - would appreciate anyone’s thoughts on this?

How much is an 18 month old freezer .
Final offer rejected then small claims court would be next step .
  • quick ebay check for similar anything between £150-600 but would have to collect....and i still dont know what to do with the waste of space one in my kitchen!
Is take the offer and claim rest through S75 an option, as i paid on credit card?

No, the liabilty of the credit company would be the same, so they would consider the £242 as settled.

You could try to get Currys up a bit higher, if the fridge was £600 new then £300 would be a more reasonable offer I would have thought. But if second hand of a similar age is as low as £150 then their £242 isn't too far off.
  • i thought as much re the S75...
Its the fact i now have to go and spend >£600 to get a similarly specced unit - even worse im likely going to go to currys to purchase....ironic!

Why Curry’s, why not John Lewis who will deliver to you or AO?

There's a reason they are cheap, as you know.
