PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING: Hello Forumites! In order to help keep the Forum a useful, safe and friendly place for our users, discussions around non-MoneySaving matters are not permitted per the Forum rules. While we understand that mentioning house prices may sometimes be relevant to a user's specific MoneySaving situation, we ask that you please avoid veering into broad, general debates about the market, the economy and politics, as these can unfortunately lead to abusive or hateful behaviour. If only solicitors could give this information!
I asked my solicitor on the 11th Dec about needing new searches (originally received April 2020, expire in 6 months), no response.
Asked again 12th Jan, no response.
Got mortgage offer last Friday 15th Jan, finally a response - "we need new searches, dunno how long they'll take".
New searches required will take 28 days if this website is accurate! Thank you, Tiglet2!Credit cards: £9,705.31 | Loans: £4,419.39 | Student Loan (Plan 1): £11,301.00 | Total: £25,425.70Debt-free target: 21-Feb-2027

Just seen this after making a similar thread - oops! I have been waiting 12 weeks for my searches and I’m really starting to lose hope now! The website says 20 days which is clearly incorrect0

Now I'm worried, toohas your solicitor been proactively communicating with you about it? My understanding is there's not much they can do but perhaps they might know why the estimated time is so much lower than the time it's actually taking - low staff levels due to COVID, Christmas holidays and anything else...??
