How long do searches take?

I know there’s definitely no exact answer to this but just wondering on average how long searches take? My solicitor applied for them on the 18th of December and I know Christmas would have delayed a few things but just wondering how many weeks I could be waiting! Thanks!

Our were applied for at the start of December and are expected back at the end of January. Estate agent said 25 days for our local council, but because its been Christmas they're taking an extra couple of week ... so 8 weeks in total and ours are not one of the really slow ones.0

Varies greatly depending on the council, so might help if you told us which one.1

Ours were applied for on 10th December, were due back 30th December, actually received yesterday 11th January. My councils website states 10 days turnaround."Nothing is permanent in this wicked world, not even our troubles".1

Just had an update from the solicitors, the 18th of feb is the return date for the searches which would be exactly 2 months since they were applied for 😩0
