Can you regain a housing association/council tenancy?

  • Just give up your council tenancy and rent privately.  You will never, ever get what you want from the council.

You have very little hope even if your condition is at some point physically recognised .
You don't say what your symptoms are as most can be minimised with different solutions to each symptom.

It appears that nearly all of your previous properties are not suitable so your best bet is to stay put and adjust your living conditions which is probably relatively easy to overcome.

You can't expect councils to sort the problems for you , they are there for people who's need is far higher than yours
  • The council are just not going to keep moving you around until you find a place with just the right ambience. Allocations are not based on those criteria so you need to look at alternatives & your alternatives are to do a mutual exchange or rent privately. Once you relinquish your tenancy you will be at the bottom of the council list & leaving private accomodation for a condition that is not recognised or provable and then reapplying for council will probably be seen as having made yourself intentionally homeless.

To be honest this sounds a bit like Goldilocks and the Three Bears. The first bed was much too hard. The second bed was much too soft. But the third bed was just right. That sadly is a fairy story. Most councils only offer the first bed regardless of how lumpy it might feel.

So your options are to accept you are not going to get what you want from the council & do an exchange or go private. I did an exchange from one flat where i had to step over heroin addicts to get out of my door to a flat that gets mould on the walks periodically. I much prefer the mould. My point being no council property will ever be perfect. They all have things about them we night not want, but the days of being choosy with council properties is long gone. Maybe 40 years ago you might gave had more choice.

    Tbagpuss has a good point.
ME/CFS was considered purely psychological for years; even though it is now recognised as a physical illness, CBT can be one of the treatments still offered, as is graded exercise therapy.  Ditto for chronic back pain.
How you manage it can be as relevant as the illness itself.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

I have been in one property since I developed the condition and haven been symptom far better with relatives etc.

You clearly don’t know anything about the condition so you should not so pepples
needa are far higher than mine.  I cannot think of any condition which Osborne worse than those when it comes to housing.  The fact that’s japan and other countries developed accomodation specifically for these people speak about for itself.

The council will not simply continually keep moving you until you have found a property suitable, this will never happen, so you need to accept this to allow to you to move forward. If you can find a GP that understands your condition and is able to articulate it, you may have a shot of a move, but can guarantee this would be a one time exception if it even happens.

For this to happen, you need to have a list of requirements, criteria that will make a suitable property. Simply saying it could be ozone or something else wouldn't work and is counter productive to your needs. If Japan have built housing that meet your needs then you need to get that list or requirements that allowed them to build the house (could be used certain materials, paints etc, certain surveys with measurable items e.g. ozone under 100 μg/m3) you can then take this to the council as a list of requirements for suitable housing. Whether they will listen is another matter, or even try.

If you are unable to understand what is causing your issues, then how on earth do you expect the council to understand it and to have a chance at meeting your needs.

If they aren’t not willing to build accomodation but there’s is  good chance I will find something Be it with one to a few tries then why wouldnt they keep moving me?

that would just be outright neglect.
What reason could they have other than not wanting to do the process a fewer times.  Its clear once the air quality is tolerable levels tuats all I need.  You can model it on other countores or you can keep moving me.  Nobody has mentioned why the coincidentally wouldn’ t
move me where I to get a physical diagnoses.

Why should they keep moving you? We may well have no understanding of the condition, but you clearly have a jaded understanding of the real world & perhaps that's part of the problem. No. There isn't a good chance they will keep moving you. It's not going to happen so rather than clutching at straws, focus on alternative options. Mutual exchange, private rental of live with family. Eitherway once you surrender a council tenancy those will be your only options anyway.
