1. The backtested results I've seen from Andres Cardenal are all within that range.
2. https://www.trendfollowing.com/performance/ - 16.5% per year - Michael Covel's website
3. If you want to put a bit more effort in then Andrea Unger is claiming 30-35% per year for his algorithmic trading once you get good at it - and I am pretty sure he doesn't need to sell training courses making overinflated claims in order to make a living.
I could go on by giving more examples but the returns I quote for comparison as a rough guide are not in any way exceptional and most of them are incredibly simple systems.7 -

Look at all the failed investment schemes offering similar returns and you'll see what's likely to happen.
If you're even considering it then be very, very careful as it's likely that other schemes will pop up to tempt you in a similar way.
Have you already filled your £20k pa ISA allowances?Remember the saying: if it looks too good to be true it almost certainly is.5 -

It's strange that there is no information about it anywhere on the web that I can find - good or bad. I guess it's worth checking the domain name too to see if the info is consistent.

daveharruk said:Has anyone heard or got any experience of the company ExpertInvests.com? I was invited to join their private FB forum by someone on another FB trading group that I'm in. The reason I ask is that they seems to be offering astonishingly high returns for your investment.
on the other hand, I always like to approach investment with an open mind so if anyone has any thoughts I'd love to hear what they think.
From their own site 'about us' page:
"However in a rare case where Expertinvets loses your investment, you are protected by the money back guarantee." Not only did they fail to spell their own name correctly, they expect you to believe that when they have lost your money, they'll just give it you back. Even though it has been lost and no longer exists.
Upside of 20% per month, and a 2% referral scheme for getting your friends or contacts to put money in, and no downside because you can just have your money back if they're not successful? Sure, it's not surprising that greedy idiots on Facebook throw money at it.I can't find any reviews on the internet, although their website does have a few testimonials.Testimonials are the things they write about themselves that they think would make you want to invest, believing it to be an independent opinion which of course it is not . On their 'about us' page, the reasons to choose them seem like they are written by a child who has just discovered some grown-up words and has a class project to write a piece of marketing for a made up company:You would imagine that if they really have $billions of assets under management placing trade volumes of over $4bn a month notional, and have been running for over twenty years, as it says on their 'about us' page, they would have had at least one negative review.- We have never had any negative review that could tarnish the image of our reputable company.
- We will never exhibit any act to tarnish our image.
As far as I can tell, they're not FCA regulated,Of course they are not regulated because a financial services regulator would not allow them to make ludicrous claims about returns on your retirement money. Based on their website, they are not UK based.
On their 'about us' page, one of the bullet points is "We always place carefully calculated trades for clients." Of course, running a discretionary investment management service trading on the markets for clients is the type of thing that would be regulated in most countries of the world, and promoting investment opportunities to UK residents is the type of thing that the FCA would regulate, and anyone who throws money at this type of thing knowing they are making unregulated claims about how they will manage your money to grow it for retirement is a complete idiot.but then I'm not sure that this type of scheme would be approved by the FCA whether legitimate or not.
The type of scheme is one in which you give them money to do whatever they like with, based on some bold claims, in the hope of being paid back. Much as a fool might give money to a boaster in the pub who says he has a sure-fire way of making money from betting on horses or investing in markets or selling drugs or robbing houses, and he says that he will give you back a slice of his great returns.
The FCA don't regulate people in the pub asking people to lend them money so they can make a profit and give you back more, but if you give thousands of pounds to someone down the pub and he gives you back 20% each month for one month and then the next month when you go to the pub, he is not there, you will feel like an idiot. Even if you could find him, good luck getting the money back when he's broke, or stronger than you.
In this case, they offer you the opportunity to participate in this 'lend money to bloke down pub' electronically, from literally the other side of the world. Ah, the wonders of facebook. The fact that the scammer is already starting off thousands of miles away from the greedy victim is not going to be much help when the scammer runs away.I guess it's worth checking the domain name too to see if the info is consistent.Worth noting that although expertinvests claims on their 'about us' page to have launched in 1998, going international in 2010 and harnessing the power of Facebook in 2014, their current iteration of the .com web domain was only created in September 2020.I always like to approach investment with an open mindFor god's sake, close it, quick.17 -

Deleted_User said:Ask to see their clients yachtsSure, if you want to be shown some pictures of yachts from Instagram and told how much their clients are enjoying their yachts - and how this is your opportunity of a lifetime to get your own.Dave's posts make it clear that he is gagging to be scammed so he seriously shouldn't ask them anything. The more contact he has with them, the more likely he is to give in.6

Have you already filled your £20k pa ISA allowances? Its worth exactly none of your time . Stop looking on facebook for anything finance related. The fact you even need to ask if something is a scam at 12% a month (let alone 'guaranteed') is worrying and should lead to some self examination.2 -
