Staying in the black is an achievement even if only by a penny well done.2

Better day yesterday money wise. Other than my Netflix direct debit going out, it was a no spend day. Made all meals at home. All sorted for presents this month for birthdays and Mother’s Day but will need to get petrol in the next day or two. Otherwise no big spends planned. Famous last words.Using my new credit card and putting the money aside to pay it off in full each month but spending just doesn’t feel as controlled as when using my debit card.Let’s keep trying to make good decisions!0

Yesterday and today were no spend days - cannot remember the last time I had two in a row!
Out in the garden plenty recently - have my veggie patch all ready for planting. Will be great to see if anything actually grows!0 -
Nipped to the shops today and by the time I got a few messages and a tank of petrol had spent the best part of £80. Unavoidable but still a bit stressful when you’re trying to keep costs down. Also paid my dad back 20 quid for materials he had got to fix my fence. Thankfully the good man let me pay him for his time with coffee and cake!More positive money matters included my credit rating getting a boost and I also picked up a free book for the little ones using a world book day voucher from the school. Also received £10 cash back on my breakdown cover thanks to one of Martin’s tips. All meals were made at home and there is even left over curry for tomorrow night. Still keeping my spending diary and definitely feel like it helps keep you motivated through the month when the inevitable lulls come along in between pay days!0

Just totted up my totals for the month so far in my spending diary categories. The food shop set to be expensive. Bracing myself! Will have to make extra sure to use up all left overs and not let fresh bits go to waste. When things seem to be getting away from you a bit it’s tempting to throw caution to the wind but going to try and still keep costs down as much as possible.0

Well today wasn’t too bad spend wise. Just posted a birthday parcel and had a naughty McDonald’s at lunch time.Took a bag of too small clothes to the charity bin and have another one waiting to be passed on to a friend.
Nothing else to report. Weather dreadful - let’s see some sunshine!!0 -
Have been so bad at posting recently. Always means I haven’t been watching the pennies as closely. Have still been keeping my spending diary and just totted things up so far this month.Cannot believe it but I have already spent £200 on the food shop! There are still two weeks to go! Good grief. Also won’t be able to save as much as I had wanted this month.Oh well, at least all the bills will be paid for and I have put a little aside. Damage control the rest of this month then hopefully a better month spend wise and save wise in April.0

Going through a bit of a phase where everywhere I turn there is money to be dished out for something or other.Treated to breakfast this morning by lovely mum then rest of meals made from what we had in. 8.66 spent on a few necessary bits for pack lunches this week but otherwise managed to keep my purse shut!Cold but dry day so at least got everyone out in the garden for some free entertainment and exercise.0

Well March has been a very spendy month. I have even let my spending diary slip the last week or so.Drawing a line under it and starting April budget from tomorrow. Here’s to doing a bit better!0
