  • Haven’t posted all February and it is showing in my spending.

Already the food shop is sitting at 141.15!

Absolutely must recommit to sensible spending!!
  • Grabbed a quick top up shop this morning which only came to £2. Another £5.55 spent on a few nice bits (chocolate cake, coffee and shortbread - all on offer) for a thank you hamper I am making for a relative who did some work for me but wouldn’t let me pay them.

I have been neglecting my credit rating and it has dropped significantly so this needs a bit of attention. I have updated my address on the electoral roll and my new credit building credit card arrived today so let’s see what I can do to pull this round.

Otherwise a quiet day and all meals cooked from scratch. Spends logged in spending diary.

Weather doesn’t know what it’s doing. Hoping for a better day tomorrow so we can get out for a walk. And a good sleep tonight! Both definitely help me make better money choices!
  • Treated to drive thru breakfast this morning by lovely mum, who also left some milk in my fridge - always needed in this house!

Basket arrived for my home made hamper so will need to get a few more bits to finish this. Also need to post my brother’s birthday present so will need to finish parcelling this up ready to send.

Pin arrived for my new credit card so will start using this for shopping and petrol and pay off in full at the end of each month. Credit report updated today but no change as yet, will see how things look next week.

Only spend today was £4.50 on some ice creams, as well as direct debits coming out for car insurance and tv license.

Have been keeping my spending diary up to date since the start of the year - must be a record for me!

A couple of small spends today.

6.65 spent in the range on some seeds - going to try my hand at growing some veg this year. The borders need some attention before I do some planting in a few weeks time. But first I need it to stop raining!

£5.50 spent in Tesco. 3.00 on a small food top up and 2.50 for the last couple of bits for my hamper, which is now finished and will be delivered this evening. Only cost about £20 and looks great.

Ordered DC1 some new wellies and a pair of trousers to put away for DC2. Only 11.50.

Overall happy with spends and going to make a pack lunch to take in to work with me tonight. It’s going to be a bit of a lean week to finish the month off but going to try and eat from the cupboards and avoid a big shop until the start of March.

Also mended four (!!) pairs of the children’s leggings so hopefully we’ll get a bit more wear out of them yet.

If you have a willow near you they are very good for gardening stuff even if you just grow some lettuce and strawberries it saves a good bit of money packed lunches also help I’ve got to write everything down I spend it really helps me keep on the straight and narrow good luck
  • I agree writing it all down definitely makes you more aware of how you are spending your money IzzyBee!
  • Quiet day yesterday after night shift.

Only spend was collection set aside for church.

My direct debit has gone out this morning for my phone and don’t plan to spend anything else. All meals planned from stuff we have in.

Forecast says sunshine all day so hoping to get us all outside plenty and get some stuff done to tidy up the back garden.
  • Managed to make a good bit of clearance out in the garden today. Plenty of fresh air and sunshine for everyone. Plus no money spent! All meals from what we had in.

Have a big bag of the children’s clothes which are too small that needs sorted. Some for charity but the majority will be passed on to the sister of a friend. That’ll be some more stuff out of the house. Also mended another two pairs of trousers today.
  • Cupboards bare yet again - where does the food go?! Tesco delivery yesterday came to just over £40 so the kitchen’s a bit better stocked now.

Other spends yesterday were postage for a parcel and a happy meal after a very successful trip to the dentist (small price to pay! Lol).

No sorting or clearing done and terrible nights sleep so doubt there’ll be any today.

Can’t believe we are nearly at the end of the month.
  • Haven’t been posting and unsurprisingly my spending has gone up. Need to get the ship steadied!

Ended February in the black, but just - £2 after all bills and spending!

There has been quite a bit of spending so far in March and it is only the 3rd!! But still plenty of time to pull things round. So am re-committing (again!) to sensible spending and trying to stay out of debt!
