how about fit an electric plinth heater in the kitchen. 2.4Kw heater will cost you £65 per year if you set to run for 2 hours a day on a timer for the coldest 3 months of the year1

100mm Celotex is great. There is no point trying to add to that - it wouldn't be cost-effective, and you wouldn't notice the difference.

100mm was regs back then. If you have spotlights in a ceiling as thin as the picture shows, then it's compromised by means of having great holes punched in it...

do your velux roof windows have vent's in them? they might be open?0

Pull out those spot lights and have a look into the ceiling, it should be very easy to see if there actually is 100mm of celotex.
We have a 30sqm extension with substantial amounts of glass, including a vaulted ceiling with 4 velux. The ceiling has at least 150mm of celotex and it’s one of the warmest parts of the house, needing less heating than we have specified.1
