Agency worker and Covid-19

I am after some assistant regarding a friend of mine who contracted Covid-19 over Xmas.
She does not speak very good English but has told me she works for an agency on a contract of 37 hours per week and was confirmed Covid positive over the Xmas period and was told to self isolate until today.
She informed her agency and they told her not to return to her workplace until Monday 11th January. After speaking with them today to confirm her return on Monday she was informed that she is not entitled to any form of sick pay for the time she was off, whatsoever.
I'm am quite surprised by this, but as I have never worked through an agency and I don't know if this is correct or not.
Surely she should be entitled to SSP or any other form of support because of Covid.
Any help would be appreciated
