Other half has P40lite and can't get google, courtesy of Mr Trump. There are some work arounds online. Has anyone tried them with sucess?
I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.

What's this supposed to mean? "can't get Google courtesy of Mr Trump"? You can go straight to other pages from the address bar of the browser by typing the address in, you don't have to Google everything. So if you can't get to your hompage (presume Google), go to another page instead, that'll tell you where the problem is. What are these "work arounds" to which you refer?

Trump banned Google from licensing Google Mobile Services to Huawei. So the P40 series doesn’t have Play Store, Google Apps etc Any other app that relies on GMS won’t work properly if installed from a third party App Store.Neil_Jones said:What's this supposed to mean? I would imagine the procedure to install GMS on a Huawei device would be similar to how it's done on an Amazon Fire device? (Get the right APKs and install them in the right order).

There have been workarounds to the Google bans, but normally they get patched out pretty quickly. What does your other half really need Google for?0

side loading apps will never be as good. Google Pay & banking apps will not work properly ............get a non Huawei phone0
