Is it higher set? So more visible to queuing traffic further back along Eaton St?Manxman_in_exile said:But why is there a secondary light only on the right and not on the left? I know Car54 has suggested it's for traffic going straight-on, but surely the proper place for that is on the left (where there is no light) rather than on the right?I need to think of something new here...0 -
It is located so that vehicles turning right into the road that the VW is taking can see it, and hope that if it is red, the oncoming traffic is going to stop......There is no point having one on the left, or people will be all confused, and stop in the middle of the junction.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

Did I say that I did?Homer_home said:So yes in summary I would suggest you read the highway code especially as you seem to think it is ok to go through a red light0 -
I'm going to assume you have not been driving long to be asking questions you really should know the answer too.......Manxman_in_exile said:OK. So most of what people have said I understand and agree with - once I'm over the stop line at the junction on green I'm basically ok to go over the crossing. But why is there a secondary light only on the righthand side of the road and not the lefthand side? If anything it would make more sense to be on the left and not the right, surely?
I'm going to recommend not only a read of the highway code but also an advanced driving course clearly this is something you would benefit from
If you have been driving a long time ...... Well the same advice applies0
